The Betrothal of the Raven : Love

written by Poet : RavenPal

The Betrothal of the Raven

So lovingly put from one so fair.

Her words, he hears, they hang on the air.

From frozen realms, where the cold winds blow!

Her warming words travelled arctic snows,

No arctic winds, or frozen snow.

Would stop these words, to whence they go.

Her words of love - cuts through his sleep

She wants him to know, his love, she keeps.

Whilst far away in a distant land,

There lay’s at night, a lonely man.

‘Cross oceans vast, and out of reach.

His love for her, she too beseeched.

And whilst he dreams, lets forth a sigh.

That wakes him from sleep, with tearful eyes.

His words of love, took shape and form.

For them, both now, their union born!

A new day dawns and freedom is come.

A union, a birth, ‘neath a pale gold sun,

He raised his head towards the skies;

Then letting forth a tremendous cry!

Though, silent in its shape and form;

His pledge of love, to her was gone.

Whilst sun beamed rays filled up the skies.

Passion burns fiercely behind his eyes

Yet far away in a frozen land,

His lady waits with head in hands

Quietly praying for a tell tale sign

To let her know, that all was fine

Within that instant, she then knew.

That her distant lover really was true;

When, his words sang out, unto her heart;

We may be so distant, but never apart...
