He was headed down life's one way road, with pictures of life to his left and right, they lined his road like bill board signs.
There was a blind man sitting by the side of the road, his back was hunched from his heavy load but he just turned his head and kept on going.
He came to bodies lying on the road. Women, children, babies & men. He did't know how many and he did't know their names, he just stepped over them all the same, for they were his enemies this he was told.
Now ads were flashing in the night. There was no blocking them from his sight. They burned through his eyelids and into his mind, violence, hunger, sickness and pain, greediness, invidiousness, vanity and shame.
Then he came to the Devil on a billboard sign with quarters in his head for his eyes, a new dollar bill for his tongue it just kept on waving as he said, "keep on coming your doing fine, keep on coming, you'll soon be mine".
But, there below that devils sign sat a lost soul crying all the time, so he walked on over and he took it's hand and said, "follow me to the promised land". Well the Devil screamed and said, "you come back" he turned and said, "I'm sorry mack...you can have our bodies but not our souls, you can have our bodies. But not our souls".
