Watched the moon lose it's glow last night
a warm, wee trace-cresent in sight
Sat with my back against the sky
a wingless being, unable to fly
Clenched my hands 'round fragments of words
unformed, unfelt, silently unheard
Lowered my head in a whispered psalm
aching for a waveless calm
Chestnut locks of untamed hair
framed my face, i hid in there
Peeking out from behind the strands
would the moon come take my hands?
Seeking home so far away
would the stars show me the way?
Teardrops spill on secret shores
sacred thoughts behind heart's door
Eternal wings to soar above the pain
face uplifted, unafraid of the rain
Silent night of many sorrows
yesterday gone, will you come tomorrow?
