With a smile she is always ready
No frown she would ever let us see
But I know she is a sweet lady
Cause she just sweetened my tea.
My hunger gets the better of me
But her smile just brightens my day
Do I want some soup or fricassee
Whatever the price is, I'll pay.
With a flair she performs her task
Serving soup by the bowl and cup
And then suddenly she simply asks
Do you want me to ring you up.
Ring me up, now that is funny
What ever is it she would prefer
Does she simply want my money
Or does she need a phone number.
Ah, better be safe and pay the bill
Sweetness does not like an egotist
And it would really be a bitter pill
To wind up on her "one of them list".
With a smile she is always ready
No frown she would ever let us see
But I know she is a sweet lady
Her finger just sweetened my tea. . . . .
