In Spring comes April Shower
With its life-giving essence
When a bud becomes a flower
Has it lost its innocence.
Summer sun-baked earth dries
The sun is torrid with its presence
The flower shrivels and it cries
Has it lost its innocence.
Autumn cools and fills the skies
With much awe and reference
The flower falls and it dies
Has it lost its innocence.
Winter snows freeze earth cold
The flower's frozen in suspense
Its seeds seeking to take hold
Has it lost its innocence.
In Spring comes April Shower
With its life-giving essence
When a bud becomes a flower
Has it lost its innocence. . . . . .
