I see puppies everywhere. This must be the season for little, four-legged charmers because in one day I may see 4-5 of them. Some are being carried by the doting owners, others are being trained in walking in a leash. Both groups are adorable and everybody notices them and want to pat them.
However, I can't help thinking of the grown dogs they are growing into in a few months time. All dogs started out being loved and pampered puppies, but some/many ended up as abused and forgotten pets. Now I ask myself: Where was the transferrence from the one to the other? When the dog lost some of its cuddliness or when it got sick and its owners' didn't want to pay the costs? Perhaps they found out that the upkeep of dogs is expensive.
Anyway: No matter how it ended it started out as a love affair ...
