In this case the one who is free to a good home isn't the pet, but the HUSBAND. I laughed when I read this ad about a woman who has to chose between her cat-hating husband or her adorable male pet, her cat. However, I wonder how often a situation like this develops into a choice between man and beast - so to speak. If the woman wants a child and the man doesn't then that's a tough one to tackle for ordinary human beings.
