she called me up at 2 a.m
i said oh you again
thanks for helping me stay awake
surely there was no mistake
she says no one wants my words anymore
the poetry population says i'm eternal bore
i said you don't understand
sometimes supply exceeds demand
surely tomorrow some one will write
maybe a vampire running out of light
my poems are in my bloody veins
darling i write as often as the moon wanes
your voice soothes me a rhapsody gentle
my poems are cardiac more than mental
once again the night haunts me still
maybe i need a stronger sleeping pill
cause monsters sometimes keep me awake
beside my pillow a wooden stake
so i'll write you another poem of love
howl at the phases i see above
my love my heart is yours to keep
you see i've already made the leap
sometimes love scares me like human wine
red and overflowing you are mine
i've kept my mouth shut tight
but now you are mine tonight
