the princess lives in a castle tower
way beyond my reach
she would appear in the window
quoting philosophy
the words would filter down
like falling comets
bright and effervescent
wise and vibrantly sparkling
a brook from the sea of knowledge
wanting to return what was given
singing my poems
from A to Z
hoping that poems could defy gravity
and climb the tower stones
lifted my eyes to the sun
discovered it was you
the princess of enlightment
shined her light upon me
so the songs
the philosophy
met in the middle
and the unreachable
was within grasp
