i’m too into fashion
have way too many shoes
my shoes must match my shirt
cologne occasionally drapes me
my hair is dark and straight
shy at first but then a humorist
the salvation army store knows me well
my spirit is my focus
don’t like combing my hair
it’s going to get caught in the wind
i’m not into the things most men are into
drinking and cussing and
sleeping another bed
another night
if you really love me
be patient with me
catch my spirit
walk along with me
modesty can surprise you
go ahead and do your judgment stare
don’t make me into who
you want me to be and
i’ll accept who you be
eyes are the vessels of judgment
the heart know what it can’t see
so please let me be
focus God’s eyes

I've never been into fashion.
I've never been into shoes.
I've never cared if my purse matches my outfit.
Makeup breaks out my skin.
So I guess I won't fit in.
My hair is curly and dry.
And I'm way too shy.
I dress very thrifty.
I guess you can say that I focus mainly on my spirituality.
I don't like painting my nails.
The polish just comes off.
I'm not into the things most women are.
I'm not one who likes dressing as if I'm a movie star.
So if you really love me then don't you dare try and change me.
Just focus mainly on my spirituality.
I'm modest, but you don't care.
You're too focused on my dry curly hair.
You can't tell me who to be. I won't judge you either.
Man judges with his eyes.
God judges with his heart.

I'm not flashy like the girl next door.
So what if I get my clothes from the thrift store!
I shop there as a choice.
That's just who I chose to be.
