I never wanted to say goodbye
But I did so with tears in my eyes
I never wanted to give you up but I did it
out of love
I never wanted you to go
The only things here to remind me of you are
some pictures of you and one of your shoes
and some memories of the time I spent with you
Even now as we get older and I think about
the time that has passed since I seen you last
I look at one of the pictures from the past
I cried because I loved you
And I never wanted to have to say goodbye
