Suddenly
yes, all of a sudden
wisdom grew tangible
even took shape as a sage
"I know everything," he said
"don't try to deny it"
I didn't, I just waited for his wisdom
"The world is bad," he said
"all of it nothing but a decoy"
"A decoy?" I said
"Yes, to lure us into loving"
"Oh," I said, and then it dawned upon me:
my sage, my pillar of wisdom didn't know much
all he knew was to deride what he didn't have
still, I didn't say anything
all I did was to slink away
very relieved that wisdom only goes that far
that love goes much further
limitless it soars and floats before diving
untouchable by mere thoughts and ideas
