yes, she always was "a good girl"
she never complained or even answered back
actually she never did answer
her life poses one question and gives no answer
you too may ask her as did I: "Why do you live?"
maybe there is an answer after all
if so it's in a foreign language of signs and meekness
her matted hair, dulled eyes may be an answer
so may her silence, her hunched shoulders
what country speaks this language?
