There was a fence
not very secure though for a nosey child
poking holes was quite easy
and what a spectacle
the theme of that garden was cosiness
hammocks and cushions everywhere
made me wonder, even for years
When I grew up I understood
also why roses grew so very well
both in the flower beds
and on the cheeks of the by now old couple
their names told many tales
Romeo and Juliet, still very much in love
