The Divine, no less, took us by hand
led us into shades we had overlooked
all fell into place, beauty was born between us
as everyone took part in the Divine breath
Beauty grew stale, the shades became overheated
still the breath was there to sustain us
pirouetting to sales' tricks we wanted more
what we wanted was less holiness, less gravity
a Divinity that wasn't Divine, and a world full of fun
ungrateful we turned our heads away
snapping for air less Divine
to stray is human, and stray we did
also we strove to recapture a dignity of our own
so we do all our lives, in or out of the shades
brave souls fightning for our special space
