Born to die like everyone of us
to burden this planet with his hungers and demands
after all, maybe just one more to feed
somehow this newborn child is all of everything
human/god, a pestilence/the best of Christmas gifts
a carpenter/The Saviour
all of that and even more to all of us
What he was fed he paid for in blood
not that we wanted it, but he did
all in all both a gift and a burden to tired and lazy souls
those who want to sleep through it all
it's for their sake he had to be born
