I came upon a friend at the mirror
She looked at me, all in shock
as she cried out:
"Oh, my God, whatever happened?
Was pretty yesterday, smooth skin, stary eyes
breasts trying to ascend to Heaven.
What happened, what did I do?"
"What mirror is that?" I asked
"The shallow one in glass?
Don't trust it. Glass lies. It pierces,
doesn't piece together.
The only mirrors that counts
are your lover's eyes
only they mirror you."
