I had to push my way in all I did
no limits to the hardships I met
all of them like wet clay or cement
made the wings of my spirit fall off
turned my feet into earth anchors
actually, long ones, held down by dirt
At one time the hardships stopped
all of them turned insipid and harmless
the dirt fell off my feet, setting them loose
maybe my spirit grew new wings
anyway, what was barriers fell down
and now I ask: Why all this torture?
"A test" all those wise ones say
Then I ask: What is this then?
After all, nothing takes its toll as easy living
so why not see this as a test?
I may passed the first one, but shall fail this one
In reality feathered beds hit the hardest
