She saw her chance
but didn't take it
she saw the purse
easy to grab
but she didn't
an angel in diguise
dressed as poverty incarnate
but still, an honest soul
hungry and freezing most likely
also:
honest and absolutely no thief
How come everybody eyed her
looking suspiciously at her
estimating her poverty
not liking what they saw?
After all, she was a genuine angel
why didn't they see it?
Their eyes were set to see something else
to see imaginary thieves, poverty crimes
they didn't see what wasn't
an angel in disguise
