Hands for Hearts : Relationships

written by Poet : EC

How many hands does it take to hold one heart?
Depends upon build and nature, I should say
whether it's solid or flimsy-fluently-limitless

What you hold may seep through your fingers like water
there is no stopping it as it lets lose like a waterfall
should it be like jelly some of it may stay in your hands
but what are you to do with jelly-stained fingers?
can you keep it? No, but can you wash your hands?
No way, what you wash them of is the soul of your beloved

What about the solid heart which doesn't run away?
The solid heart is like a lump of meat, may be a heavy burden
it's unwavering, many corners, full of limits
never budging it's like a sculpture of feelings it doesn't know
its tick-tock is always right on the spot and it knows it

The heart of velvet is pleasant to touch
it's softness muffles the sound
what you hold is like a flower
mute, but alive
