In Europe the turkeys fare best
we give thanks without Thanksgiving
no eating-contests, no birdy-screams
just a plain, dull "Thank You" at odd times
that is, unless the "thank" grows mulled
and the "you" dissolves into "nothingness"
lady luck turns away from non-dreamers
all those who don't feel reasons to thank
gobbling along with the turkeys they lost it
