Everything went wrong when we tumbled down
falling like logs from the sky, dancing for the wind
such a surprise, and none too pleasant at that
we landed in squalor and was seen as debris
God's angels we were, servants for Satan we became
make good and get punished, make bad for applause
that was the new law, deep down in newborn Hell
Demeaned our world turned, fading to black on black
our loves turned too, no more angelic encounters
no saints unless they sinned, doomed to the flames
this was our punishment for siding with Lucifer
no one expected this fate for God's angel-children
still, we grew adept at punishing and torturing
that's what the Divine won, blackened angels to blame
even whiter than white, unblemished ones to praise
this spiritual double-standard kills souls and morals
but the black angels aren't guilty of that crime
no, we were victims like everyone else, even truth
black was born out of angelic white
