A "fragment", they say
this our full life is nothing but a fragment
all fragments constitute an episode in time
these wriggling, clamouring human-worms want more
change the law of the Universe, they scream
we don't like Doomsdays, the world is made for us
eternity is ours to keep eternally
don't try to change that fact of life and fate
fragment upon fragment add up to many
all of them claiming to be the centre of the Universe
they themselves believe in their rights to pass laws
however, Space itself shrugged at their claims
causing floods and eruptions that cut them off
as to the Universe it didn't count fragments
it just went on, building and tearing down at will
