Vermin cut loose from sacred reins
crawling in and out of eternity
how did this happen?
This I know, they move like us
they die and scream in agony, just like us
but still, they are called vermin
To stem our backs to the mirrors
doesn't turn our images snowy white
they escaped, somewhere they watch us
wondering what we are, in and out of mirrors
all of them running loose, maybe planning
wanting to do the live-and-let-die-trick
that we taught them
