Goddess, you scarred Diva, decaying on a rotting pedestal
because of this your footstool you still tower above us all
however, neither Moon nor Sun in your retinue
no one to adore you like before
Your hands are empty of gory gifts
no sacrificed babies and bloodied goats these days
the fake blood on your face is rust stains
you would call them tears if you were alive
Once kings ruled your world through terror to your honour
you were adored, warriors kneeled to you, kissed your foot
old women prayed to you while preparing babies for your sacrifice
your empty eye sockets stare blindly at the world you never knew
how could you, you are stone, built by humans, you never lived
endowed with human dreams and wishes, nothing but a doll
played by cruel, cowardly men, devout to their godly plaything
