Death in Snowy Ravines : Life

written by Poet : EC

Speed in air, icy winds and possible death
that's what snowy landscapes are about
down slopes at rocket speed called sport
to stoop means rolling down like a rock
to land at the foot of the slope means death
or maybe broken bones, a life in wheelchairs?

Whatever set this madness rolling?
Had people wings when it started, and did they fly?
Maybe they felt immortal?
Or maybe they didn't know death?

However, The Reaper knew them
he set out harvesting wingless flyers
who ended in ravines, frozen into statues of bravery
when found, like by magic grandfathers looked young
grandchildren might be quite old, aging in reality
the over-brave grandfathers never aged
that is, not until they came back into the realm of realities
