Dancer feet, drumsticks beating new rhytms
this newborn speed propels body and soul upwards
lifting into Space, the dancer succumbs to fright
desperately her feet kick air for foothold
a dancer who doesn't want to soar, what is she?
No gifted artist, no soul aflame, just a human
just someone who knows the steps
but not blessed by the spirit of the dance
