I'm thinkin' I'm not thinkin', when actually I am thinkin'
That fact I'm not dismissin' when a million thoughts come whizzin'
I hear a clock that's tickin' with the tickin' tockin' hand shifts
I'm feelin' awfully tempted to get some periodic glances
I'm feelin' awfully anxious as the hand shifts every hour
I'm feelin' rather down when every second is a challenge
Yeah, the challenges are great as my brain waves remain active
I think that I would crack like any minute any second
I'm layin' in my bed like on a mattress hard as rock
And plus I think that I have lost this bitter battle I have fought
Oh fuck, my pillow's hard as rock so now I'm tempted to just punch it
My head is truly stuck in a negative attitude---I'm cussin'!
My head just couldn't function with the insufficient rest
So my abilities would regress if I'm simply stuck in this given mess
I'm thinkin' that if I sleep at least an hour I might be content
But this stress and grief that I possess just got me abruptly thinkin': "DAMN!"
I mean when...when at any second will I get some sleep?
Will I get at least some decent sleep or will I just end up countin' sheep?
'Cause honestly I've counted sheep and cows and countless animals
Incredible! I've counted the cracks and holes on walls---they're plentiful!
In my perspective though, I can't control or minimize the stimuli
A million thoughts get amplified, but a dream wouldn't quite materialize
So now I'm findin' that I'm strivin' tryin' to visualize like blankness
But damn, the contents of my mind could not be minimized---I'm anxious!
So now the damage has been done as the risin' sun's creatin' light
And there's no comfort in this mind when now the enemy is time
It's gettin' harder every time, so why now bother shuttin' eyes
Because the fact I have in mind's: "There goes another SLEEPLESS NIGHT!" (Yikes!)
