Sheila

Sheila’s her name , she’s my old flame ,
the prettiest girl that I’ve seen .
With hair like silk and skin like milk ,
she’s known as the Hucklebuck Queen
There were no laws ,all for the cause ,
We stood on the corner and kissed .
My arm she’d link , on an ice rink ,
Where a few stray
bullets had missed .
We walked and talked as others gawked ,
On opposite sides of the road .
Sheila and I often would try
To stay calm as bombs would explode .
In troubled times our songs and rhymes
Spoke of courage some of us had .
The girls and boys all made some noise ,
As the world around us went mad .
For what its
worth , land of my birth ,
I miss her and those that I knew .
Though years have gone memories live on
and the truth now I’ll tell to you .
Sheila’s a gem and none of them
Could ever say we weren’t a pair .
Well more or less ,she’s just the best ,
There’s no one could compare to her .
