She came from an auction
Quiet, small and thin
A good friend had bought her
With just the right bid
I received a call one day
And my friend did say
Come take a look
I know you'll be hooked
I went to go look
That's all it took
My friend quoted a price
I smiled with delight
He loaded the mare
While I just stared
Hard to believe
This wasn't a dream
Her name was a given
For it came right to me
She was my Gypsy
And sweet as could be
A beautiful roan grey mare
Four white socks and a star on her rump
White mixed in her mane and tail
I love her and give her good care
Gypsy will soon be four
I will love her forever more
If a day comes that we must part
She'll stay always in my heart
