Farewell My Gypsy : Pet Poetry

written by Poet : Vickie Peacock

Farewell my Gypsy I'll miss you so

I loved you much but I've let you go

You've got a new home, new land to run

I'll remember the days we had such fun

The economy sucks and our budget is tight

Within my heart raged an awful fight

One thing was clear that put my heart in reserve

I couldn't give you the time you really deserved

So busy with work guilt seemed to cut like a knife

You're too good of horse for just a pasture life

I gave you away, yes you were free

One thing money can't buy is love you see

I found you a home and I can visit you too

The choice I made was best for me and you

Yes I still miss Gypsy very much, even tho it's been a lil over a year since I found her a new home. I found myself lacking time to work with her and she was getting hard for me to handle, but I loved her despite her Arab pushiness...lol. But I also knew deep in my heart that finding her a new home where she would be loved, well taken care of and given the time and attention she deserved was what I needed to do.  So that's exactly what I did....if you love someone or something....you better love them enough to let them go...and I loved Gypsy enough to let her go...a choice made out of love.
